The Pathways Foundation A resource site for men and women who have experienced abuse within religious institutions. The Hope Walk Project As part of her physical and spiritual journey of recovery, Pathways founder Gemma Hickey walked across the island of Newfoundland during the summer of 2015, beginning in Port aux Basques and ending at the Mount Cashel Memorial in St. John’s. Historic Ferryland Museum Conserving, preserving, studying, interpreting, and exhibiting to the public a community's past. www.ferryland.com Located in the old courthouse overlooking Ferryland Downs and Isle aux Bois, the museum offers views of the harbour and surrounding countryside. The Fisherman’s Room depicts the life of those hardy men to whom Lord Baltimore bequeathed “this place” on his departure in 1529. The museum is a short walk from the Colony of Avalon on Route 10. Memorial University Cheerleading A student-run club in support of Memorial University's Varsity Athletics program www.facebook.com/muncheerleading The Memorial competitive cheerleading team, established in 1999, is known for being an active volunteer within the community as well as a huge supporter of Memorial’s Varsity Athletics program. The team has grown since its inception and succeeded at a few national competitions. In addition to the team’s recent third place finish, MUN Cheer has taken first place in the university Level 6 Division while attending Cheer Expo in Halifax from 2011-2013, which included an unprecedented overall Level 6 champion title in 2012. In January 2020, MUN Cheer came third in the University World Cheerleading Cup Championships in Orlando, Florida. Budden & Associates is proud to be a sponsor of this team. |
